Engine 68-1

2012 Spartan/Crimson Fire Apparatus

Engine 68-1 is a 2012 Spartan Gladiator cab and chassis with a custom-built body by Crimson Fire Apparatus (the newly formed Spartan ERV). The unit will be designated Engine 68-1 and meets the Chester County specifications for both Engine and Rescue. The combination of two firefighting equipment into one has become very popular to reduce the total number of apparatuses needed on scene to mitigate the given emergency. Engine 68-1 is housed at our Pothouse Road Substation.

Engine 68-3

2018 Spartan/Smeal Pumper

Engine 68-3 is a 2018 Smeal Pumper built on a Spartan Metrostar Chassis.   This unit functions as a NFPA Class A Engine.   The engine also  has 15 approach and departure angles for access to steep driveways in our area.  This vehicle is housed at our Main Station on Valley Park Road.

2008 Spartan/Marion

Engine 68-5 is a 2008 Spartan/Marion Pumper Tanker built on a Spartan Gladiator Chassis. This apparatus functions as an NFPA class A engine. However, because of the amount of water it carries, it is referred to as a Pumper Tanker.  This unit is housed at our Pothouse Rd Substation.

Brush 68

1988 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe 3+3 Dually Pickup Truck

Brush 68 is a 1988 Chevy Custom Deluxe, four wheel drive pick-up, with a custom suppression setup.  The truck carries a host of hand tools for containing the spread of brush and forest fires.  Unlike the pumps on our class A engines, the pump on this truck can operate independent of the vehicle's power train.  This allows the truck to be driven along the outer edges of field fires and apply water directly on the burning vegitation to stop fire spread and quickly contain the fire.  Vehicle is equipped with Seating for 4, a driver, officer and 2 firefighters.  With its 4x4 capabilities, the brush truck is also used during severe storms to assist with clearing downed trees, as well as removing vehicles stuck in rising waters with its winch.  This vehicle is housed at our Substation on Pothouse Road.

Utility 68

2020 Ford F350/Knapheide

Utility 68 is a 2020 Ford F350 Crew Cab Pickup with a Knapheide Utility body with a lift gate.   This vehicle is used to transport additional personnel, tow trailer for ATV 68, and assist with Traffic Control on Scene.  Vehicle is Housed at our Main Station on Valley Park Rd.

2013 GMC Sierra 3500/Reading Body

Traffic 68 is a 2013 GMC Sierra 3500 4x4  Crew Cab with a Reading Utility Body.  This Vehicle is used for assisting with traffic control and for transporting additional personnel to emergency scenes.  This vehicle is housed at our Substation on Pothouse Road.

ATV 68

2016 Polaris Ranger 6x6 800cc

ATV is a 2016 Polaris Ranger 6x6 UTV equipped with a Custom manufactured brush firefighting skid unit.   The skid unit is removable and is custom built from Wild Bear Fire with an 80-gallon water tank, hose and equipment tray and storage compartment.   This vehicle is used to assist with brush and field fires, assist with transport of injured victims in hard to access areas, and assist with search details in remote areas.  This vehicle is housed at our main station on Valley Park Rd.

Engine 68-2

2002 Pierce Dash Engine 68-2 was a 2002 Pierce Dash Custom Pumper.   Pumper had a Detriot Diesel Series 60 Engine with an Alison Transmission.   It had a Hale Q-Max 2000 gpm pump with a class B foam system.  It carried 1000 gallons of water and 30 gallons of class B foam.   Engine was also equipped with a Wilburt Light tower with a harrison generator.

 

 

Rescue 68

1991 HME/Grumman/Hackney Walk Around Rescue

Rescue 68 was a 1991 HME/Grumman/Hackney walk around rescue.  Vehicle had a Detroit Diesel 6v92 Engine with an Alison Transmission.   Vehicle was equipped with PTO generator, wilburt 4000 watt light tower.   Rescue unit had a 6 bottle cascade with a 2 bottle fill station and high pressure air reel.   Vehicle had Lucas Rescue tools with reels and various rescue equipment.

1991 HME/Grumman Pumper

Engine 68-1 was a 1991 HME/Grumman Pumper.   Vehicle had a Detroit Diesel 6v92 Engine with an Alison Transmission.   Vehicle had 1000 gallon water tank and a Waterous 2 stage 1500 gpm pump.   This pumper also had a Onan Generator and Wilburt Light Tower. 

 

 

 

Tanker 68

1985 Volvo White 4 Guys

Tanker 68 was a 1985 Volvo White Chassis with a 4 guys Tanker Body.   Vehicle had a Detroit Diesel 6v92 Engine with an Alison Transmission.   Vehicle had 3500 gallon water tank and a Hale 500 gpm PTO pump. 

 

 

Engine 68-5

1981 Volvo White Pierce Dash

Engine 68-5 was a 1981 Volvo White Chassis with a Pierce Dash Pumper Body.   Vehicle had a Detroit Diesel 6v92 Engine with an Alison Transmission.   Vehicle had 1500 gallon water tank and Waterous 2 stage 1500 GPM pump.   Pumper also had an Onan Generator with pole lights.
